My name is Patricia and I live in Bacolod City, Philippines, otherwise known as the City of Smiles, Masskara Festival, sugarcane and chicken barbecue which we call “Inasal”.
In fact that is my father’s enterprise along with selling this quintessential noodle broth of pork and liver trimmings called “Batchoy” for more than thirty years now. Perhaps that is even where my story began. Raised by restaurateurs who sold said Batchoy, hamburger, spaghetti, ice cream concoctions like “Ernie and Bert and Choo-Choo Train” to support their young family of five and then later to be able to send their three children to a good university in Manila, I have come to be back home where it all began, here in Bacolod.
A mother of two for more than a decade now, I live with my husband Mark and two sons, Mark Jr. and Malachy by a resort near a sea that inspires me to dream and write short stories and poetry.
